The one true constant in my long career in photography is integrating picture making with being part of a family, first as a son, then a partner and a father, and now a grandfather too. I photograph cycles—of days, weeks, months, years and lives. I take pictures of the details of routines and their subtle shifts and changes. Collectively my decades-long diary in pictures asserts who I am. Photography guarantees both truth and fiction, and as my loved ones come of age, I offer this sample of a single photograph per year.
